The Chicago School Forensic Center® offers partnerships to local, state, and national organizations and agencies to provide community-based services to the under-served and under-resourced. As of fall 2011, the Forensic Center has 19 ongoing community partnerships. The Center offers treatment to clients of agencies that serve marginalized communities and demonstrate a lack of expertise or limited resources to address the mental health needs of their target populations. The Center offers programs to partners free of charge to support a continual standard of care.
Through service-learning courses and practicum experiences, TCS graduate students make significant contributions to the community, providing services that often would not otherwise be available to governmental agencies and human service agencies and their clients. Since 2007, over 13,000 hours of community service have been provided. This number is expected to grow steadily and the number of initiatives continues to expand.
